Windows atau Ubuntu QGIS?

Sejak menggunakan komputer dual boot di opis, saya pernah ditanya yang mana lebih elok,  Windows atau Ubuntu QGIS? Saya berkata kedua-dua dari sudut teknikal adalah sama, oleh itu, tak kisah. Bagaiamana pun, saya lebih suka Ubuntu QGIS kerana:

• QGIS disamping Ubuntu patch updates kerap diumumkan oleh Ubuntu Software Updater semasa saya aktifkan komputer pada waktu pagi. Kadangkala, ianya juga melibatkan update versi maka update secara 'separa-automatik' dilakukan oleh saya melalui klik keyboard. Pada Windows QGIS, pengguna perlu melawat laman web QGIS dari masa kesemasa untuk mengetahui sama ada versi terkini nyata, apa pun, perlu di update secara manual. 
• Saya adala pengguna Ubuntu dan LibreOffice kerana fed up kerapkali perlu menjalankan defrag, scandisk, anti-virus dan anti-malware updates serta buat scanning, tambah pula, tidak perlu risau mengenai serangan Windows virus dan malware.
• Terdapat banyak cara untuk memasang Ubuntu QGIS andai terdapat masalah kesulitan: Mod Terminal, Ubuntu Software Centre dan Synapatic Package Manager manakala melalui Windows QGIS hanya terdapat satu cara yang saya tahu. Ini mungkin akan menjadi masalah semasa QGIS memerlukan fail spesifik untuk menjalankan modul tertentu, selain dari itu, saya dapati mendapat bantuan dari Internet lebih mudah melalui mod terminal.

Kesimpulannya, terserahlah pada pilihan masing-masing.

Windows or Ubuntu QGIS?

Since I use a dual boot computer at my office, I was once asked which is better, the Windows or Ubuntu QGIS? I replied both are technically the same so in that sense of the word, it did not matter. However, I said I preferred the Ubuntu QGIS because:

• QGIS alongside Ubuntu patch updates appear frequently notified by Ubuntu Software Updater when I start the computer in the morning. Sometimes this even included a version update so updates are 'semi-automatically' updated by me by the click of a keyboard. In the Windows QGIS, one must visit QGIS homepage once in a while so see whether a recent version is available, even so, that must be updated manually. 
• I am a Ubuntu and LibreOffice user because I got fed up doing frequent defrags, scandisk, anti-virus and anti-malware updates and scanning, not to mention, I do not need to worry about Windows virus and malware attacks.
• There are many ways to install Ubuntu QGIS should things get sticky: Terminal mode, Ubuntu Software Centre and Synapatic Package Manager whereas with Windows QGIS there is only one that I know of. This may be problematic when QGIS requires specific files to use certain modules and I found getting help from the Internet to do it in terminal mode is easier.

All in all, the choice is yours.
